Background
Alexander E. Schwartz represents policyholders in insurance coverage related disputes. His experience includes negotiating coverage and defense with insurers on behalf of policyholders, advising clients on policy limits and coverage issues, and pursuing bad faith insurance litigation. Mr. Schwartz’s work encompasses most insurance policies including commercial general liability, errors and omissions, directors and officers, homeowners, excess, and others.
Prior to his work at Hess Bower Adams-Hess, PC, he gained experience with a national law firm handling insurance agent and broker negligence cases, among other professional responsibility cases. During both that experience and work in law school, he helped achieve an award of attorney of attorney’s fees for over $2 million, a successful motion for judgment after assisting lead counsel in a lengthy trial, and the setting aside of default in a bad faith insurance case with an exposure of seven figures.
Mr. Schwartz earned his B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles, where he competed on the Mock Trial team and helped lead his team to a 3rd Place Victory at the 2017 National Championship Tournament. Mr. Schwartz earned his J.D. cum laude from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where he graduated Order of the Coif. While in law school, he was both a staffer and editor for Loyola Law Review and competed with the school’s moot court teams. He earned 4th place best brief in the Roger Traynor Moot Court Competition during his 2nd year, and both 2nd place best brief and 1st place best oralist (tie) at the National Moot Court Competition – Regional during his 3rd year.
